We are in full Spring mode and it is so much Fun!! Strawberries are all over this place and incredibly sweet and delicious!! We've gotten in fresh, local beef and it is pairing well with all our veggies! The weather has been great for shopping, hanging out and eating Ice Cream! The Farmer has been hot-n-heavy planting crops and we received Amazing rain just the day after...perfect timing!! So much to see and so much do...!!
Planting season is The Farmer's favorite time of year. He's planted Corn, Watermelon, Squash, Tomatoes, Okra, Beans and the list goes on. Our Peach and Plumb Orchard is looking Gorgeous, thankful they survived the Freeze a few weeks back. Of course little Shep is always around for the ride!
Sunday was such a treat!! We had a Free petting Zoo brought to us by Farmer Brown's Party Animals. The owner is a smart young guy, Patrick Starr. Patrick is a Sophomore at Auburn University and started this business when he was 13, isn't that Incredible?!?
We also had the privilege of hosting an art class with my sweet friend Lauren Duncan. It was geared towards children, and the task was to paint the farm landscape. It was adorable and so fun to watch. Lauren is an excellent teacher. Her joy and passion for art are so visible. I so love seeing people use their gifts and talents in a beautiful way, and to show others how to do the same...thinking I may do a whole other story on this, too many good pics to choose!!
We are loving the kids programs!! Lots in store for Summer too (more to come on that later...). Our biggest vision behind George's is to open up our farm to serve our community and to allow our customers to Enjoy ALL of our space. To see these kids developing their sense of Art, and themselves, while enjoying our beautiful farm is a blessing.
Thank you to Everyone that visited this weekend!! We thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you did too!
